WordCamp Toronto is now free to attend!

Reserve your free ticket for WordCamp Toronto 2018 on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the North York Civic Centre.

WPToronto, as a not-for-profit community group within the WordPress meetup chapter program, has reserved space for WordCamp in the City of Toronto civic centres at no cost to the group.

Our agreement with the City of Toronto states we are unable to charge for attendance to our events.

Current ticket holders will be reimbursed, and the first 350 people who register and attend are guaranteed to get in. Come early when the doors open for registration at 9 A.M. on Saturday!

WPToronto is grateful for the ongoing support from the City of Toronto, and for providing the free space to our community. It makes our many meetups, and this WordCamp, affordable and accessible to all.

Anyone who hasn’t registered yet should reserve their free ticket now before we run out of space! (Did I mention they’re free!?)

Luckily many sponsors and WordPress Toronto Supporters have stepped in to make sure we get some cool snacks and swag, plus the rockin’ after party. So we can guarantee you a good time in and out of the educational sessions.

In the spirit of WordPress and the GPL, we want to make this open to everyone. So please remember to cancel your ticket reservation if you can’t make it. You can find a cancel link in the email confirmation you receive after you register.

  1. Hi Kristine et al, Thanks for the update… and sharing good news.

It’s a bit unclear whether current paid ticket holders need to re-register. And if so, must we wait to receive refund or can we register now?

    Hoping you can clarify?

    Thanks!

  2. You forgot to mention that if you already paid for a ticket you are guaranteed entrance. So thankful to the sponsors and supporters & volunteers who are helping to make this event awesome.

  4. So how will refunds be done, back to the credit card that we used to pay the $25, one of those giant cheques for $25 when we go register, 500 nickels when we arrive for registration? etc…?

  5. To help us out, please request your own refund from your email confirmation. The organizers will still have your information and you won’t need to re-register again!

    • I got this e-mail:

      Hey there!

So I did purchase a new ticket, though it the word purchase feels weird. But i did purchase it. I read my e-mail before coming here.

        • Thank You, you are all awesome. Out of curiosity, are there going to be t-shirts this year? That’s half the fun of going to a WordCamp. now with this change, will there be 2018 t-shirts?

    • Hi there. The tickets are (were?) self-refundable via the link that was sent to you at the time of purchase. That said, I’ve gone ahead and initiated the refund – you should receive an email notification.

    • Hello,

I am not part of the organizing committee. I got a refund on my credit card already.

Sometimes refunds take time, and for my credit card it takes a day to fully update. So check your credit card account/statement/whatever in a couple of days.

  6. There is a way to process your own refund outlined in your email however anyone who bought but didn’t self-service their refund will be given their refund as soon as we can manually process the others (but as part of the WP volunteer task force, I prefer that you use the self-serve option, thx!)

  7. Hi Andy, I have the original email of my purchase but there doesn’t appear to be a “self-refund” option.

I was told the refund would be processed last week, nothing yet.

What can I do to self-refund or what can I do at your end to ensure this gets done sooner than later?

    Cheers!
